House System

The House System of Jaspal Kaur Public School is a platform where every student is assigned a house, namely, Akbar, Ashoka, HSN & MRS. These houses are named after four great and inspiring men of India. Each of the houses are formed inculcating and embodying the ideas and thoughts of these great personalities. Each house is monitored by a House Mistress and several other teachers who give a path to explore the latent talent of the students in various academics and cultural fields. They are an autonomous unit under the care of a House Captain and a Vice House Captain. A number of inter-house activities like quizzes, drawing competitions, poem recitations, debate competitions, inter-house sports tournaments, dance, music and art contests etc. are conducted during the course of the academic year. Houses also take initiatives like conducting morning assembly, setting up the class/school bulletin boards, maintaining discipline, and conducting eco-club activities to engage students in learning and developing various skills. House Days are also conducted annually. The houses compete in a wide variety of disciplines like talent hunt, tableau, dramatics, etc. These activities test boys/girls and encourage them to exploit their hidden talent. All the competitions culminate in the Annual Day Function where the rolling trophy is handed over to the "Winning House". JKPS Houses are a structured community within which students develop feelings of loyalty & responsibility of living in a family and leadership. The Houses are instrumental in imparting valuable lessons of teamwork, co-operation and a sportsman's spirit among the children. To boost the confidence of our students a plethora of such activities are a regular feature.
