Pulsating Patriotism: Independence Day Celebration

"Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul, Dream big, for every dream precedes the goal."
JKPS, Shalimar Bagh conducted its virtual Investiture Ceremony to welcome the new student council members with great enthusiasm on August 11, 2021. The solemn and joyous occasion commenced by invoking the almighty's blessings with a Shabad, followed by a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, Commodore Narayanan (former principal JKPS), Guest of Honour Mr Vikas Aggarwal (JKPS alumnus and National Head India Mart) and other distinguished guests. The Chairman of the school Sardar Surjit Singh Ji and Vice-Chairperson Mrs Rasna Singh also graced the occasion. Mrs Asha Saran Srivastava, Principal, JKPS, addressed the gathering and the newly elected student council members with her inspirational words and motivated the appointees to remain dutiful and be responsible leaders. The newly elected members of the student council were administered the oath by taking a pledge to abide by the rules and regulations of the school and uphold the dignity of their prestigious institution. The newly appointed Head Boy, Divjot Singh and Head Girl, Harnoor Kaur, in their address spoke of how the school's vision helped in shaping them to become talented young leaders. The Chief Guest, Commodore Narayanan, in his address congratulated the newly elected members and guided them to be brave, honest, and relentless in fulfilling every responsibility they undertake. He motivated the children to keep moving forward despite all the obstacles and challenges that life throws in front of them.
Mr Vikas Aggarwal, the Guest of Honour (alumnus JKPS), appreciated the efforts made by the school by providing a forum for the students to take part in such activities. He added that students should make the best use of such opportunities to complement their academic performance.
JKPS believes in igniting patriotic fervour among students by celebrating occasions like Independence Day. So, the 75th year of our nation's independence was also celebrated along with the investiture ceremony.
Dharohar- a small presentation depicting glimpses of Indian culture and heritage was presented by the young budding artists of JKPS. A mesmerising dance performance was also performed by young Jaspalians to pay tribute to our martyrs.
The programme, which was a huge success, ended with the vote of thanks given by the headmistress, Mrs Shikha Dhameja, followed by the National Anthem.
