Code of Conduct

  • JKPS students are expected to behave in a polite and dignified manner at all times. They should be courteous and respectful to teachers and other members of the staff. They should greet their teachers when they meet them.
  • JKPS being a co-ed school, its students are expected to behave in a manner which befits the spirit of the school and brings a good name to the school community.
  • School does not permit celebration of birthdays inside its premises except for students of Nursery to Class III who may come in casual dresses on their birthdays and distribute only sweets to classmates to avoid discrimination among students.
  • Presentation of any gift to any member of the staff by students or parents is strictly prohibited.
  • Students should not use abusive language. Bullying and use of foul language are punishable offences.
  • Changing of classrooms between periods or moving from classrooms to any other venue for school activity should be done silently in an orderly manner.
  • Students are not to stand outside the classrooms during changeover of periods.
  • Students are expected to take proper care of the school property. No student should damage any school furniture, write or draw anything on the walls or in any way damage things belonging to others. Damage caused even by accident must be reported at once to the Class Teacher, Headmistress or the Principal. Any damage done will be made good by the student responsible for it.
  • Students and members of the staff are expected to observe the green rules.

Discipline

  • Students should come to school on time and should be habitually clean and neatly dressed.
  • The school uniform should be worn on all working days and for all school functions. Students slovenly dressed or not in uniform will be sent back home.
  • Students who come to school on their own should reach the school before the bell rings.
  • No student is allowed to come to school in a self driven motorcycle, scooter or car with or without a valid license.
  • School provides no parking facility for vehicles. Parents wishing to drop their wards by private vehicles are requested to park at least 100 m away from the school gates so as to avoid creating traffic congestion near the school entrance. Parents are requested to extend their whole hearted co-operation in this regard.
  • Students coming late to school will be sent back from the gate.
  • No student is permitted short leave from the school. Such permission will be given only in case of emergency.
  • Students who come to school escorted should never leave before the escort arrives. In case of delay they should report to the school office.
  • Every student should carry the school diary and identity card daily.
  • Parents and guardians must not visit their wards or teachers without the prior permission of the Principal. Guidance/clarification on matters related to their wards can be sought from the Receptionist.
  • Students using school bus will maintain discipline in the bus. Bus facility for those not maintaining proper discipline will be withdrawn.
  • School does not permit bursting of crackers inside its premises. Stern action will be taken against the offenders.
  • Students who use unfair means during tests will be given zero in the subject and a warning letter. Repetition of the same will result in dismissal.
  • The school reserves the right to suspend or to take strict disciplinary action against a student whose diligence or progress in studies is persistently unsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful to other students.
  • No student is allowed to carry a mobile handset to school under any circumstances. Stern action will be taken against the offenders and the mobile will only be returned, on the student leaving school after class XII.

Attendance

Repeated absence without leave or unexplained absence for more than Ten consecutive days will render a student liable to be withdrawn and his name will be struck off the rolls. Readmission may be granted only on the payment of fresh Admission Fees subject to the availability of a vacant seat.

All students are expected to be present on the first day of the academic year, on the opening day after and on the closing day before every vacation.

It is mandatory for students to complete 75% attendance in a year to become eligible for the final exam. Any shortfall in attendance will render a student en eligible for any academic prize.

Students suffering from any of the following diseases must observe the prescribed period of quarantine before returning to school.

  • Chicken Pox : Till all rashes dry up.
  • Measles : Two weeks after the rash disappears.
  • Mumps : Until the swelling has completely subsided.
  • Jaundice : Until the disease is totally clear.
  • Conjunctivitis : Till redness of eyes totally disappears.

Students after suffering from an infectious or contagious disease will be permitted to attend the school only on the production of a fitness certificate from a competent doctor.

Green Rules

  • Do not throw litter on the ground. Use dustbins.
  • Minimize the use of polythene bags. Do not throw them in public places. Use paper bags, cloth bags or jute bags. These are environment friendly.
  • Do not pluck leaves or flowers. Plants make the environment beautiful.
  • Do not write Graffiti on the walls. This is your school, keep it clean.
  • Keep your environment clean and green.
  • Do not waste energy by shouting. It can cause noise pollution.
  • Switch off the electric switches and close the taps when not in use. This will conserve the scarce resources of electricity and water.
  • Use paper wisely and judiciously. Do not waste it. Saving of one sheet of paper per child per day by students of Delhi alone leads to saving of 40,000 trees per year.
  • Get your vehicle pollution checked every three months.
  • Imbibe habits and lifestyle to minimize the waste of our resources, reducing pollution and conservation of environment.
