Annual Day

Jaspal Kaur Public School, Shalimar Bagh recently celebrated its 32nd Annual Day . The event was woven around the theme Abhyuday - A new beginning. Mr. Vinay Sheel Oberoi , an Ex IAS officer , graced the occasion as the Chief-Guest. Mr Shekhar Singh Dalal, an IAS and alumnus of JKPS was the guest of honour. The function was also presided over by the school Chairman, Vice Chairperson, members of the Managing Committee and PTA members. A colourful display of exhibits on various subjects like English, IT, Social Science, Maths, Science and foreign languages was also presented thematically. The programme began with a Shabad - a tribute to Guru Nanak Devji on his 550th Birth Anniversary followed by the lighting of lamp ceremony. The school Principal, Mr. George Mathew formally welcomed the guests and presented the school Annual Report which highlighted the laurels and achievements in the field of academics, sports and other co-curricular activities. Meritorious students were awarded by the Chief- Guest and the guest of honour. The Chief Guest congratulated the school for its achievements. The incredibly talented Jaspalians enthralled the audience with mesmerizing events. The English Play, an adaptation of The Last Leaf by O. Henry, gave a beautiful message to the audience , Hope is the light-house of life. The highlight of the evening was a Dance Drama Lakshya - Arjun Ki Gaatha-, based on the the importance of selfless work. The Headmistress , Dr. Renuka Kamal, proposed the vote of thanks. The show concluded with the National Anthem. Hard work and sincere efforts of the students and staff made the show a huge success.
