The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award is a global framework for non-formal education, which challenges young people aged 14-25 to dream big, celebrate their achievements and make a difference in their world. Since its launch in 1956 it has inspired millions of young people to transform their lives. Participants design their own Award program, set their own goals and record their own progress. The Award is a non-formal education and learning framework operating in more than 130 countries and territories around the world through which young people's achievements outside of academia are recognized and celebrated. JKPS, as a youth engaging society (YES) center of the IAYP, provides a wonderful opportunity to our students of classes IX to XI to participate in voluntary service, physical recreation activities, discover personal interests and talents and learn about leadership through adventurous activity to make them confident, reflective, and engaged learners by enrolling them for the AWARD. Though, this well acclaimed program is purely optional but it is a marvelous platform for all the aspiring students who wish to attain global outlook and prepare themselves for the prestigious national & international universities in the years to come.
