House System

The House System at Jaspal Kaur Public School serves as a vibrant platform for fostering leadership, teamwork, and holistic development among students. Every student is assigned to one of four houses — Akbar, Ashoka, Hari Singh Nalwa (HSN), and Maharaja Ranjit Singh (MRS) — each named after great and inspiring leaders of India. These houses embody the ideals and values represented by their illustrious namesakes.

Each house operates under the guidance of a House Mistress and a team of dedicated teachers who mentor students and nurture their talents in academics, sports, and cultural activities. Leadership within each house is further strengthened by the House Captain and Vice-Captain, who take pride in motivating their peers and leading by example.

Throughout the academic year, a wide range of inter-house competitions — such as quizzes, debates, drawing and poem recitation contests, sports tournaments, dance, music, and art events — are organized to help students discover and refine their talents. Houses also take charge of conducting morning assemblies, decorating school bulletin boards, maintaining discipline, and leading eco-club initiatives, all of which instill a sense of responsibility and community spirit.

A highlight of the year is the celebration of House Days, where each house showcases its collective creativity and teamwork through events like talent hunts, tableaus, dramatics, and more. These activities culminate in the Annual Day Function, where the coveted Rolling Trophy is awarded to the Winning House in recognition of its excellence and overall performance. The House System at JKPS is more than just a structure — it is a close-knit community that teaches students the true essence of teamwork, cooperation, leadership, and sportsmanship. Through a plethora of engaging activities and competitions, students gain confidence, develop character, and learn valuable life lessons that extend far beyond the classroom
