Debates help children enhance academic research, creativity, expression, and communication skills as well as learn the nuances of debating, putting forth viewpoints confidently, and gaining unparalleled knowledge. Keeping this in mind, an Inter-House Virtual Debate competition was conducted on the topic, "Has social media brought the world together?" for the students of all the four houses of JKPS on 22nd December 2020. All the participants got an opportunity to showcase their debating skills. The Debate Competition was adjudged by Ms. Shreya PGT English at Mata Jai Kaur Public School and Ms. Pravishtha Taneja an alumna of JKPS.
The speakers of all the four houses spoke eloquently on the topic. The highlight of the event was the Question/Answer round. The session was a kaleidoscope of opinions, thoughts, ideas, and perspectives that enhanced the knowledge and understanding of the topic among students. All the participants exhibited great oratory skills.
Principal Mrs. Asha Saran Srivastava conveyed her best wishes to all the students and motivated them to come forward and participate actively in such events to be more articulate and confident. The event was graced with the presence of the Vice-Chairperson of the school, Mrs. Rasna Singh, who praised all the participants for their poise and confidence.
