PSYCHOMETRIC TEST

A career orientation session was organized for parents and students of classes X-XII to orient and familiarize them with various career prospects. To take it further, the school facilitated a psychometric assessment with Jitin Chawla's Centre for Career Development, India's Largest Career Counselling firm, active in career counseling and workshops. In order to make an informed decision, an understanding of the individual is required. One needs to understand his/her personality, interests, and aptitude before making a career choice. Keeping the need for counseling in mind, the school arranged for psychometric testing for class X on December 2, 2022. Individual counseling was also undertaken in school herein discussions with parents and the child were held & therefore the child's stream & career pathway were finalized. The counseling was done with Jitin Chawla's team of senior counselors.

JKPS constantly strive to impart an integrated education to empower our students to discover their own potential and passion. We strongly believe in providing them ample opportunities to explore and create their own career path to help them realise their dreams and aspirations in the long run .A well planned ,systematic and structured approach involves collaboration with all the parents ,teachers and students to ensure the smooth and successful transition of our students to the next stepping stone.
Thus with this endeavour in mind, session was organised for class X students and their parents on "Understanding Self and Stream Selection" by the renowned counsellor Mr.Jitin Chawla on Dec 26 ,2020.The session commenced with the School Principal, Mrs Asha Saran reiterating the importance of one's potential and subject of interest before making decision. He apprised about the latest updates, opportunities and career prospects. He acquainted about opportunities in various streams, new trends and encouraged students to do research in the area of interest and each one to find the direction of their career path. Session was interactive and beneficial for all. Students asked many questions and were answered by the expert.

JKPS Career Fair 2020

Everyone has some sort of significant goal they hope to achieve in the future. And choosing an apt career for stability in life is very important. But with an enormous amount of options offered, choosing a suitable career becomes a confusing and stressful task for the students. They have many doubts and questions about their career paths which they want to seek answers for. It helps when they are guided by professionals and mentors from those fields. Every year JKPS takes an initiative to organize a career fair for the secondary classes where the mentors representing different courses are invited to clear all the doubts of the students and show them the right path. This year too JKPS organized a virtual career fair on 31 October 2020, Saturday, in collaboration with ICAE- International Centre for Advancement of Education. The webinar was held in two parts comprising the presentations by Indian Universities and then the Foreign Universities, followed by the Q&A session for the students. The host of the show Ms. Almas conducted the whole webinar and made the interactions easier. The delegates of Indian Universities were- Ms. Ashwini Pagad (ATRIA University), Mr. Shailendra (O.P. Jindal University), Ms. Aditi Soni(IIAD), and Mr. Jayant Gogoi (Shiv Nadar University). The presentations by the delegates of Foreign Universities were shared by- Mr. Rituraj Singh (Kent State University), Ms. Anagha (University of Ottawa), Mr. Raul D'Souza (Istituto Marangoni), Mr. Doljit Pangging (ESSEC Business School) and Ms. Megha Yadav (Education USA). The delegates clarified doubts as well as shared new career options with the students. This webinar was an enlightening experience for the students which helped them clear view of their future careers.

Indian Navy Session

JKPS organised an event with the Directorate of Naval Education for interaction with studentsof class XII on 23 and 24 Dec,2020 on virtual platform. The main aim of the webinar was to make the students understand the different options of Career in Navy . Principal Mrs Asha Saran Srivastava , motivated the students to introspect themselves to understand the work of interest and their career path.
Lt.Commander Piyush Jain and his team created awareness amongst the students about the Indian Navy and it’s multifarious roles and functions. The webinar included a short tele film,a presentation and a question and answer session for the students. The team also imparted the knowledge about the equipment they use, courses for different streams, eligibility criteria for the same. JKPS was honoured to have a webinar with them and the students were enlightened by the Naval officers on these two days.

One to One Counselling

To introduce the students to the world of work, JKPS took an initiative for class 10 by organizing a career guidance program "EXPLORE" by Envision India Eduservices. Initially an orientation session was organized to provide relevant information to the students. After the enlightening orientation session, a psychometric test was organized for all the students to help them analyze their aptitude and interests. The psychometric test was held on 15 October 2019 to help the students make their choice as per their aptitude. A comprehensive profile was developed through those tests. One to one counselling sessions were held on 8 November and 10 December 2019. These sessions helped to facilitate decision making on subject and career choice. It also helped students and parents to understand and interpret the results thus helping students make informed choices. It was an opportunity for the students to make a wiser choice in respect of their career.

Career education and guidance plays an important role in curriculum that supports students' interests, strengths, and aspirations. The main aim of career counselling is to help students choose a field that is in tune with their skills and their job expectations. Thus, with the help of career counselling, most candidates end up choosing the right career, and perform their level best, which ultimately helps them succeed.
